
The University of Notre Dame’s will partner with the (OAS) and the for a policy workshop Nov. 5 (Friday) in Washington, D.C. at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Focusing on “Democratic Governance in Latin America,” the will feature Augusto de la Torre, the chief economist for Latin America and the Caribbean at the World Bank.
“The greatest challenge facing contemporary Latin America is how governance can be both democratic and effective,” says , Kellogg Institute director. “Partnering with the OAS and the Inter-American Dialogue, we aim to link our research with the policymaking world.”
In conjunction with the policy workshop, there also will be a book launch for a new book “,” co edited by Kellogg faculty fellows Mainwaring and , at 6 p.m. on Nov. 4 (Thursday) at the OAS offices. The event will be hosted by , the secretary general of the OAS, and , president of Inter-American Dialogue.
