
The new Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requirement that most employers provide free coverage of contraceptives and sterilization to their employees through health insurance plans will be the subject of a panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. March 27 (Tuesday) in the McCartan Courtroom of the University of Notre Dame鈥檚 Eck Hall of Law.
The discussion, sponsored by , is titled 鈥淣otre Dame and the HHS 鈥楥ontraceptive鈥 Mandate.鈥 Panelists will include , professor of law in the Notre Dame Law 91视频; , associate dean and professor of law in the Notre Dame Law 91视频; Lisa Everett, co-director of the Office of Family Life for the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend; and Gabrielle M. Speach, senior student in Notre Dame鈥檚 .
Among the questions the panel will consider are: What is the HHS contraception mandate? Whose rights does it violate? What is at stake for Notre Dame if the mandate is not overturned?
