In his talk 鈥淎ccess to Medicines as a Moral Imperative and Human Right,鈥 Quigley will explore the challenge of ensuring both robust development of new medicines and access to medicines for those in need 鈥 a challenge present in the U.S. and around the world.听
Quigley has written on this issue for multiple international and national publications, including听Foreign Affairs听and听America.听He is the founder of People of Faith for Access to Medicines and author of the book 鈥淧rescription for the People: An Activist鈥檚 Guide to Making Medicines Affordable for All鈥澨(Cornell University Press, 2017).听
His book 鈥淲alking Together, Walking Far鈥听has been required reading for incoming students in Notre Dame鈥檚 program. , director of Global Health Training at the Eck Institute for Global Health said, 鈥淲e are incredibly fortunate to have Professor Quigley come to campus to elaborate on the role of activism to initiate global change and the partnerships needed for a successful program.鈥
