Registration is now open for the University of Notre Dame鈥檚 2013 , which will take place on April 5 and 6 (Friday and Saturday) at the Hesburgh Center for International 91视频. Planned and organized by Notre Dame and Saint Mary鈥檚 College peace studies undergraduates, the conference brings together undergraduate and graduate students from the United States and several other countries.
This year鈥檚 conference, 鈥淔usion: Where Theory and Practice Meet,鈥� explores the intersection of peace-building theory and practice in the modern world. Conference chairs are Saint Mary鈥檚 College students Anna Boarini, a history, political science and peace studies major; and Cara O鈥機onnor-Combee, an economics and peace studies major.
The keynote address will be delivered by Katherine Marshall, a senior fellow at Georgetown University鈥檚 Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs, who leads the center鈥檚 Program on Religion and Global Development.
Notre Dame鈥檚 Student Peace Conference, sponsored by the , has taken place nearly every year since 1993. The conference is free for students and faculty, but preregistration is required. Funding for transportation and lodging is not available to participants or presenters, but meals are provided.
