This fall the 91视频 of Architecture was pleased to welcome four new faculty members to the South Bend campus and one new visiting faculty to the Rome 91视频 Program.听
Judith DiMaio, FAIA
Visiting Professor
Professor Judith DiMaio is a licensed architect, renowned scholar, and educator whose work emphasizes the active, interdisciplinary collaboration of building design, technology, and history. She is Dean Emeritus for the 91视频 of Architecture and Design at New York Institute of Technology and was previously an associate professor at Yale鈥檚 91视频 of Architecture and director of Yale College鈥檚 Architecture program. DiMaio has been a visiting professor and lecturer at colleges and universities including Columbia, Cornell, Rhode Island 91视频 of Design, Rice University, and the University of Chicago; an invited lecturer at Magdalen College, Oxford. 听Prof. DiMaio joins the school again after serving as academic director of the Rome 91视频 Program for four years.听
Lisa LoGiudice 鈥�06
Assistant Professor
Professor Lisa LoGiudice joins us from Perkin + Will where she was a Project Designer. 听She completed her bachelor degree in architecture at Notre Dame in 2006 and went on to receive her master鈥檚 degree from Yale University. 听Prof. LoGiudice is excited to join the faculty at the 91视频 as this has long been a dream of hers. 听鈥淚 have always wanted to teach at Notre Dame鈥�. 听I truly believe in the mission. 听The education offered to our future architects is based on timeless principles of architecture and is more relevant and important today than ever.鈥�
Giuseppe Mazzone
Assistant Professor
Professor Giuseppe Mazzone began his academic career as a student at The Polytechnic University of Bari in Bari, Italy. 听There he earned his bachelor and master degrees in Architecture before attending University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to pursue doctoral studies. 听Prof. Mazzone specializes in traditional drawings and digital technologies and has used 鈥渓ife-sized 3D architectural and historical reconstructions in immersive, virtual-reality environments鈥� in his doctoral research. 听Prof. Mazzone will use his expertise to help grow the 91视频鈥檚 current digital technology offerings.
John Odhiambo Onyango, M. Arch 鈥�99
Associate Professor
Prior to joining the 91视频鈥檚 faculty, Professor John Onyango was an Assistant Professor and Director of Post Professional Programs in Architecture at the University of Miami. 听Also an alumnus of the 91视频 of Architecture鈥檚 master鈥檚 degree program, Prof. Onyango earned his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Nairobi and completed his doctoral studies at the University of Glasgow. 听Prof. Onyango is excited to contribute to the institution that helped establish his academic values. 听鈥溾�I] was glad to have found my way back home to contribute to the education of future architectural designers.鈥�
Julio Cesar Perez-Hernandez
Associate Professor of the Practice
Professor Julio Cesar Perez-Hernandez began his relationship with the 91视频 of Architecture in 2010 when he was invited to lecture on campus. Following his lecture, in 2011 and 2012, Prof. Perez-Hernandez assisted the 91视频 during studio travel in Havana, Cuba. He subsequently served as a Visiting Professor during the Fall Semester of 2012. Prof. Perez-Hernandez earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree at the 91视频 of Architecture of the University of Havana where he would go on to teach from 1988 to 2006. In 2001, he became a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University Graduate 91视频 of Design, where he was selected as the 2012-2013 Wilbur Marvin Visiting Scholar. 听He is the founding Principal and Creative Director of Caesar Studio | Architects & Planners, an international practice with a focus on excellence. Prof. Perez-Hernandez also serves as the President for the Cuban chapters of INTBAU and CEU.
