Forward Pathway

A recent study from the University of Notre Dame (2026 USNews Ranking: 20) , led by the brilliant John Busenbark, introduced a concept called “new CEO strategic action speed.”

How analysts respond to new CEO strategic action speed depends on the circumstances into which the chief executive is thrust, according to lead author John Busenbark, Mary Jo and Richard M. Kovacevich Associate Professor of Management & Organization at Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business.

A recent paper co-authored by John Busenbark, an associate management professor at the University of Notre Dame, suggests CEOs with conservative leanings have sometimes felt compelled to back seemingly “liberal” stances to please their stakeholders.
