The University of Notre Dame’s McKenna Center for Human Development and Global Business has received a nearly $40,000 state grant to develop an artificial intelligence powered business coaching platform for low income and disadvantaged entrepreneurs in northwest Indiana. “Too many aspiring entrepreneurs lack access to the kind of business guidance that can make the difference between struggling and succeeding,” Michael Morris, founder of the the McKenna Center’s Urban Poverty and Business Initiative, said in a news release.

“We are excited about the UPBI program’s expansion and proud of the impact that universities and partner organizations have already made in their communities everywhere,” Michael Morris, professor of the practice at the Keough 91视频, said in a news release. “Our partners have a profound commitment to strengthen their local economies and together, we hope this work will reinforce long-term economic opportunity well beyond any single moment or event.”

The Collaboration Hub, a local resource for entrepreneurs in South Bend, celebrated its first anniversary Tuesday, highlighting the role it has played in helping local business owners sustain and grow their endeavors. Program founder Michael Morris said many graduates faced challenges that required more long-term resources. Mary Gallagher, dean of the Keough 91视频 of Global Affairs, said the program aligns directly with the school’s mission.

Michael H. Morris, a professor of the practice in the University of Notre Dame's Keough 91视频 and director of the Urban Poverty and Business Initiative, a program offered by the school's McKenna Center for Human Development and Global Business, is lead author of a journal article where these recommendations are outlined, as recently published in Business Horizons.

While the laws primarily address social issues, the measures often place a burden on businesses in related industries that must comply with the new regulations, Michael Morris, a professor at the McKenna Center for Human Development and Global Business at the University of Notre Dame, told ABC News.
